CENTURION SUPPORTS MALAYSIA ARTIFICIAL REEF PROJECT

Centurion’s Lifting Services business line in Singapore recently played a supporting role on a Rig-to-Reef project located off the west coast of Malaysia.

The project sees decommissioned subsea infrastructure repurposed for use as part of Malaysia’s largest artificial reef substructure. This initiative supports local biodiversity, sustainable fishing, and ecotourism in the area.

Centurion delivered two specialized winches for a custom overboarding lifting system on the project, playing a critical role in safely recovering, removing, and deploying the reef structures to their new seabed location.

The successful delivery and performance of the lifting equipment helped ensure safe, efficient execution of a complex marine operation. More importantly, it contributed to a legacy project designed to deliver long-term environmental and community benefits.

This collaboration underscores how reliable lifting solutions can play a valuable role in supporting both operational excellence and environmentally responsible offshore practices.
