CENTURION AWARDED MAJOR SUBSEA DECOMMISSIONING CONTRACT IN THAILAND

A significant high-value contract to deliver critical equipment for a major international subsea service company in Thailand has been awarded to Centurion's Asia Pacific region.

The contract will see Centurion’s teams across the Asia Pacific and UK supply cutting tools, containers, and personnel to support the customer’s critical subsea construction and decommissioning operations. The contract was awarded after a lengthy tender process, with Centurion’s competitive pricing, single supplier benefits and advanced specs of equipment leading to the successful award.

Shears, Rotary Cutters, HPUs, a Pipe Retrieval System, Pipe Grabs, umbilical reelers with various hoses, an umbilical chute, workshop cabins and skilled personnel will be provided to support with pipeline and jacket removal operations as part of major decommissioning scopes in the region.

To meet the tight timeline required for this project’s mobilization, Centurion’s global bases combined their strengths and industry-leading capabilities to deliver results. The subsea team in the UK supplied and shipped the cutting equipment while the Singapore-based team procured and fabricated other items locally to complete the equipment package. A successful trial cut was initially carried out in the UK and witnessed remotely by the customer. Two workshop containers were also supplied by Specialist Services, part of Centurion’s Middle East & North Africa region, carrying critical spares and tools to help maximize efficiency of the cutter’s 24-hour operations.

This contract will play a key part in the ongoing decommissioning support for the end customer, a major global energy producer, ensuring that offshore energy production infrastructure is safely and environmentally-responsibly dismantled.
