CENTURION CANADA RENTALS & SERVICES CARRIES OUT KEY WELL ABANDONMENT PROJECT

Centurion Canada Rentals & Services (Centurion CRS) has completed a well abandonment operation on time, on budget and with safety at the forefront.

Centurion CRS recently supported a High Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT) abandonment project for a key customer, consisting of three smaller abandonments and two large HPHT well abandonments in Northern British Columbia, Canada.

As part of the work scope, Centurion CRS supplied one 200 ton crane, one 120 ton crane, and rigger to support 24 hour operations. Access to the remote work sites was challenging with sites only accessible via an ice bridge leading to logistical challenges. Despite this, the entire operation was carried out in 46 days.

The abandonment and remediation of well sites is an important part of operators’ obligation to return these areas to their original condition, addressing their abandonment liability and meet ongoing environmental commitments.
