CENTURION CRS’ COVID-19 SEWAGE SURVEILLANCE CONTINUES TO DELIVER TOP RESULTS

Centurion Canada Rentals & Services’ (CRS) revolutionary COVID-19 sewage surveillance program continues to deliver proven results in effectively detecting the viral signal in both symptomatic and asymptomatic cases, and new variants.

The COVID-19 sewage surveillance service was introduced by Centurion CRS company WTS in July 2020 through a partnership with Alberta-based lab Discovery DNA.

Following an increase in new COVID-19 variants Alberta earlier this year, WTS and Discovery DNA worked together to implement a further DNA sequencing step to accurately identify these strains in test samples. This new testing technology was trialed in a town in southern Alberta and successfully found new variants in the samples taken.

Wastewater based surveillance is a leading and highly accurate form of testing for early detection of COVID-19, helping to stop widespread infection. By offering this service, CRS continues to help their customers in the fight to limit the spread of COVID-19 and working to keep the wider community as safe as possible.
