RECONSTRUCTION OF VITAL ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE DAMAGED BY FLOODING SUPPORTED BY CENTURION

BBB Remote Site Services (BBB), part of Centurion’s Asia Pacific region, has supported the rebuilding critical transportation infrastructure damaged by destructive flooding.

In January 2023, the Kimberley region in Western Australia was significantly impacted by record-breaking flooding brought on by a tropical cyclone, with communities in the Fitzroy Valley significantly impacted. Along with home & livestock devastation, a single-lane bridge forming a fundamental section of one of Australia’s major highways was also destroyed.

Under a state of emergency, BBB was contracted by the Fitzroy Bridge Alliance (FBA) and Main Roads WA to support in rebuilding a new bridge and tasked with the mobilization, installation, commissioning and operation of a high grade 104 person workers construction camp. BBB had the camp up and running record time, enabling the FBA and Main Roads WA to complete the bridge six months ahead of schedule.

Acquired by Centurion in October 2023, this is a significant achievement for BBB, who played a pivotal part in these vital community rebuilding efforts that directly supported Australia’s transport industry and the recovery of local state economies.
